Every Day Art Journal Spread

I got in a some new stencils from iStencil and decided to put them to use.  I used Dylusions paints (my current favorite paint), stencils from iStencil and Stencil Girl, glaze pens, and some vintage text.  The patterned paper is some gelli printed paper that I made. The drips were made with acrylic ink.  I never know how my art journal pages will end up.  I just start and go where they lead!  Thanks for coming by my blog!

I Will Create Art Journal Spread Finished

I was looking at the pages I posted in the previous post and decided that they needed more!  So here is the more!  I made the text circles flowers, added the arrows, and dotted up the "I will create" with a white glaze pen.  I think it's finished!  Thanks for coming by my blog!

I Will Create art journal page

This is a spread in my small Dylusions art journal.  I started up with some deli paper that was mop up paper from another project.  I glued it down and some vintage text at the bottom of the pages.  I used 3 or 4 different 4x4" flower stencils with acrylic paint and stenciled the lines across the bottom of the page.  I added the dots with another 4x4" stencil and highlighted some of them with a white glaze pen.  I cut out circles of vintage text, cut them in two and glued them along the sides.  I painted them like little flowers with black paint.  The words were made using a Stencil Girl word stencil.  To finish it off, I added more highlights with a black and a white glaze pen.  Thanks for coming by my blog.

Stenciled Canvas with Acrylic Inks

I received my new Stencil Girl Stencil Club stencils for June.  The set is named "Crop Circles".  I wanted to try a technique I saw using the stencils.  I put a few drops of acrylic ink on the canvas, sprayed a lot of water on the canvas, rotated the canvas and plopped the stencil on top.  The hard part is waiting until everything dries and then it's time to remove the stencil.  This canvas has 4 layers of inks with the stencils. In between layers, I added text with acrylic paint and a stencil, but most of that washed off with the next layer of acrylic inks and water.  There's still a little of it left though.  In one layer I added some stickles glitter glue on part of the stencil.  It was a fun experiment!  Thanks for coming by my blog.

Vintage Style Art Journal Page 2

This is the back side of the journal page from my previous post.  The girls are Found Relatives that I painted and doodled on.  The game cards are from my stash - scanned them in and sized them smaller.  The background stencil is Dina Wakley's Alphabetical stencil.  I outlined the yellow stenciled letters with a red Pitt pen.  Green washi tape surrounds the background vintage book page.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Vintage Style Art Journal Page

This is an art journal page for the ongoing monthly art journal page swap I'm hosting at Collage Stuff.  The recipient requested a vintage theme. The page was painted with yellow Dylusions paint toned down with some white Dylusions paint and overstamped with a brocade rubber stamp.  I used the yellow Dylusions paint with an Artistcellar flower stencil and white Dylusions paint with a Dina Wakley stencil on the vintage book page.  The striped paper is an envelope that I received in the mail with yellow and white paint around the edges.  The children are from the Tim Holtz Found Relatives.  The number 5 card is also from Tim Holtz.  I cut up a vintage math flashcard and adhered brown vintage ribbon under it.  The yellow butterflies are from Collage Stuff.  I made this page while watching the movie, "The Guest".  I recommend it!  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Whatever Art Journal Page

This page was done in a 9" x 12" journal.  I started out smooshing around some Dylusions teal paint and orange paint from another vendor.  I used the Alphabetica stencil with a baby wipe to remove some of the paint.  I used red Dylusions paint with the Alphabetica stencil to add the red letters.  I applied the washi tape in a few places.  I used the Dylusions large squares stencils with Heidi Swap gold spray ink.  I used a small paper cup to make the larger black circles with black ink.  I used white acrylic ink to make the drips. I used black paint with the Queenie stencil and the Affirmations stencil.   After that it was a matter of adding little bits and pieces.  I used a small bird punch for the birds - punched them out of a book page with red paint.  The small circles were made with the Dylusions Dotted Flower stencil and colored red with Dylusions paint.  I used the Dylusions squares stencil with black paint in a few areas.  The white dots were added with a white Glaze pen, the black dots with a black Glaze pen.  The tiny dots were made with black paint and a Stencil Girl stencil.  The word "live" is a Tim Holtz chit chat sticker.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Mixed Media ATC's

The June ATC swap at the Collage Stuff yahoo group has a birds, bugs and butterflies theme.  This is my art for the swap.  I made a gelli print background on deli paper and glued the deli paper to white cardstock.  I used a Dina Wakley insects mask and applied black paint around the mask.  I used a white Posca paint pen to make the white dots.  The stickers are Tim Holtz small talk stickers.  I found the tiny white flowers in my stash.  I think  my favorite one is the middle in the bottom row.  How about you?  Which is your favorite?  Thanks for coming by my blog!
