She Went Bump in the Night

This is the back of the art journal page in the previous post.  The front of the page asks if your garden is dark or light, does it have fairies or things that go bump in the night.  The answer is: dark and things that go bump in the night! I used Dylusions ink sprays to color the Dylusions stamped images.  I used mostly Dylusions paints.  The Dylusions skull stencil is used in the background along with Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop stencils. I outlined everything with a black Pitt pen. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Stencil Play - updated

I received some new Stencil Girl stencils and I've been itching to play with them, so I played tonight.  I used a bunch of different Stencil Girl stencils and one Hero Arts stencil.  I used mostly the new Dylusions paints.  The Dylusions paints....I just love them.  I almost forgot to add that I layered on some washi tape with text in the middle of stenciling.   Love the vibrant colors of the Dylusions paints. I uploaded this in a large size, so feel free to download this and use it in your art.  I'm planning on cutting it up to use in my art journal projects.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

I used part of the page for a fantasy art journal page coming due in June.  I used a Stencil Girl stencil with modeling paste for the flowers. I spread a little glitter bead gel around the flowers, but it doesn't show up in the photo. I added the words "how does your garden grow?  in darkness or light?  Are there fairies and sprites or things that go bump in the night?"

walk on the wild side art journal spread

This is another spread in my own art journal.  I used some geli printed paper at the right and left sides.  I glued down a page from a vintage music book in the center and used a Stencil Girl stencil to apply the green paint over the music.  The stamped images are all Dylusions colored with a variety of sparkly pens and glaze pens.  I stamped out the words with a small alphabet stamp set.  I added more stenciling over the gelli print papers.  I had fun making these pages.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Never Ordinary art journal spread

This is a spread in my own art journal.  It's a small Dylusions art journal.  This is the first time I've used my new Dylusions paints and I love the vibrant colors!  I started out with a geli printed background.  Next I layered on different sorts of vintage ephemera.  I added the Tim Holtz letters/number next.  Then it was time to stencil, stencil, stencil!  I used stencils from Stencil Girl, The Crafter's Workshop and Dylusions.  The Tim Holtz word stickers were added last.  I had fun making these pages.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Standards Art Journal Spread

This is another art journal spread in Lin's journal.  The base of the pages are vintage phone book pages.  I added some stenciled deli paper done in red tones with glitter bead gel added for texture.  It was too bright, so I toned it down with white paint.  In the middle of spread, I used a flower stencil with red paint, toned down the red with white paint, stamped in black and more white paint over the black stamping.  The woman image is from Tim Holtz.  The woman images were colored with Copic markers and a red glitter gel pen.  The words are a Dylusions stamp.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Random Words Art Journal Spread

This is a spread in Lin's art journal.  We have an ongoing art journal exchange.  Lots of acrylic paint and stencils used.  Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop stencils were used.  I also used Posca paint pens and a Stabilio aquarelle pencil.  The words are Tim Holtz word stickers.   I used my 4" round gelli plate to make the large overlapping circles. I had fun experimenting making this spread.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Art Journal Page for May - Frida Kahlo theme

At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, we're doing an art journal page swap.  This is my page for May - Frida Kahlo themed art.
For the first page, I used a background that I created with acrylic paints, stencils and my gelli plate.  I cut circles and strips of a vintage dictionary page.  I used glitter bead gel, a thick coat, to highlight the circles. The word "dreamer" is a Tim Holtz sticker.  The Frida image is from Collage Stuff.

For the bottom page....  I love being able to create custom background papers using my gelli plate, acrylic paints and stencils.  I used my 4" round gelli plate to create the background paper.  The text strips are from a vintage phone book.  The remaining images are from Collage Stuff.  Thanks for coming by my blog.

Life is a Fantasy Art Journal Page

I was watching videos on You Tube and saw one about image transfers.  I hadn't done any image tranfers for a while, so grabbed one of my Collage Stuff collage sheets and went to work!  I used matte meduim for the transfers.  After the transfers were done, it was time to have fun!  I applied vintage text with holes cut out in 3 places, then added watercolor and Color Burst. I used stencils from Hero Arts, Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop.  I used a White Viva Pearl Pen to accent some of the elements.  I had fun making this page.  Thanks for coming by my blog.

Blue Girls art journal spread

This is a spread in my own art journal.  When I play in my art journal, I never know what I'll end up with.  The bottom layer is all vintage ephemera, magazine images, Victorian scrap, washi tape and one image from a Collage Stuff collage sheet. Next blue Color Burst.  Next white paint through a stencil, and the black stenciled images were next to last.  To give it a little shimmer, I used a word stencil with gold paint.  It's very busy.  It's very me. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Sometimes art journal spread

This is another one of my journal spreads where I got carried away on the background.  With some adjustments, it worked out fine!  The background uses acrylic paint, stencils, Color Burst and a Dylusion stamps.  I used Permapaque and Posca paint markers around the main image.   Thanks for coming by my blog.

Waiting Art Journal Page

This is the first page in a new small Dylusions journal.  The background is mainly made from mopping up stencils used on other art journal pages.  I added numbers, circles, text from a stencil and the flowers (Dina Wakley stamps).  The flowers are watercolored.  Thanks for coming by my blog!
